Kurt R. Weitendorf began his career at what was then called Roderick, Myers & Linton as a clerk in 1978, and passed the bar in 1980. Since then his primary professional focus has been in the area of civil trial work, trying a variety of types of cases in both State and Federal Courts, including Products Liability, Medical and Professional Negligence, Wrongful Death, Automobile and Insurance Coverage lawsuits, on behalf of insurance companies, insureds and individuals. Kurt has taken over 60 jury cases to verdict. In addition he has also participated in the mediation of a variety of cases both as an advocate and a mediator.
Born in Lakewood, Ohio Kurt attended the University of Kentucky, received his undergraduate degree from The Ohio State University and his Juris Doctor from the University of Akron.
Kurt is a member of the Akron Bar Association, where he has served on the Board of Trustees and as Chair of several committees. Kurt belongs to the Ohio State Bar Association and the American Bar Association and is a member of the Defense Research Institute (DRI), the Ohio Association of Civil Trial Attorneys (OACTA), and the Association of Defense Trial Attorneys (ADTA).
In addition to being active in the legal community, Kurt is involved in the Greater Akron community serving as a mentor in the College Scholars Program for disadvantaged youth and serving as both a volunteer reader and a Member of the Board of Trustees of Written Communications Radio Service, a non-profit organization providing radio reading services to the visually impaired.
