Lisa Carey Dean recently joined Roderick Linton Belfance, LLP as an associate from the former offices of Kathryn A. Belfance & Associates, LLC. Ms. Dean is an associate practicing exclusively in the area of family law which includes divorce, dissolutions, contested custody matters, prenuptial agreements and post-decree matters. During her years of practice, Attorney Dean has devoted herself to protecting and defending the rights of clients in the domestic relations court and has extensive experience in handling complex divorce and custody litigation.
Prior to entering private practice, she served as Judicial Attorney to the Honorable Judge Judith A. Nicely (who was then the Administrative Judge of the Summit County Domestic Relations Court), and received recognition for assistance to Judge Nicely in the 2000 Edition of Chapter 19, Child Support, of Baldwin’s Ohio Practice on Domestic Relations Law.
Ms. Dean is a member of the Ohio Bar Association, the Akron Bar Association, and currently serves as an elected officer of the Family Law Section of the Akron Bar Association. She has also been appointed by the Court as an advisor to several committees of the Summit County Domestic Relations Court. She is a frequent guest lecturer and speaker to the University of Akron, the Akron Bar Association, and the Volunteer Legal Services Program. Ms. Dean also received training from the Supreme Court of Ohio as a divorce mediator.
A native of Norton, Ms. Dean received her undergraduate degree from Kent State University (graduating with honors) and her law degree from Cleveland-Marshall College of Law (receiving recognition for outstanding performance in legal procedure).
